sir,i want to install a grid tied system in a commercial complex. Loads vary from cfl to air conditioners. my question is what happens when there is no grid power, will there be a total blackout or the solar will keep on supplying?
If i connect solar grid tie system to the small loads(lights bulbs, fans and etc) and supply grid power to higher loads such that solar power is enough to meet the requirement of smaller loads at any time. In this situation if there is no power in the grid, will my whole system shut down or the smaller loads still remain alive ?

Dear Jagrit,
A grid tie system will basically work in the following fashion in priority:
- Solar energy available: System runs on solar
- Solar energy not available, grid available: System runs on grid
- Solar energy not available, grid not available: System runs on battery bank
- Solar energy, battery backup, grid not available: black out
